What kind of Sheriff would issue a warrant for an innocent man's arrest and put him in jail based on a statement of lies? My boyfriend, Aaron McDermitt was wrongfully arrested and sent to South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond over a false statement. Brian Braham from Cottageville accused him of robbing his house after his wallet was left behind (due to us both stopping by and visiting with his daughter and grand children early in the afternoon ) Brian is about to lose his house to taxes and I feel that this was a desperate plea to make some kind of insurance claim. Up until this event we had been friends with Brian and his family. They told police that we never stopped over to visit or were ever in thier house when the truth was not only were we inside but Brians daughter allowed us to roll up some cigarettes and I held her daughter on my lap, she had a wet diaper and it leaked on my leg. I offered my dirty pee stained pants to the officers but they wouldn't listen just because Brian and his daughter had made false claims they wouldn't listen to a word I had to say and accused Aaron and I both of lieing. What kind of justice department just goes off the first story they get and puts an innocent man in jail. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Or even hearing both sides of a story and actually using some common sense and evaluating the situation? Brian is not wealthy by any means, there are no tvs in his house, no electronics, no fancy China, just a house thats falling down around him, lawn furniture (not even a couch) not even a pitcher of kook aid in the refrigerator. Now, who in their right mind would "rob" a house like that? The items Aaron is being falsely accused of taking are items neither of us had ever seen at Brian's house or heard him talk about and we have stayed on his floor several nights and spent a significant amount of time there. This whole situation is a big mess and a huge mistake made by "deputys" who clearly lacked basic training and evaluation skills. Yes, Aaron may have a history of crimes but one thing he does is admit when he makes mistakes and this time, he is 100% innocent and sitting in a jail cell. The jackson county sheriff department has stolen my best friend and other half from me and there is nothing I can do, everyone I call wont answer my questions its like no one cares that these so called deputys have taken the one thing Aaron who is 41 will never get back and that's his time. They have left me alone to deal with all of lifes everyday struggles and no one to comfort me. Plain and simple its wrong and any one who would set foot in Brian's home and see how rough he lives then even think for a second he bad anything worth taking is crazy and should really be evaluated. I am absolutely disgusted that a warrant for someone's arrest can be issued so simply based on nothing but a lie made up by a poor man trying to save his family home. Please teach your "officers" to do thier actual job and not just arrest and serve... I am pretty sure its supposed to be "assist and serve" Aaron McDermitt and I will most definitely go to any extreme necessary to sue the hell out of this so called sheriffs department. Its a joke and it should be shut down. They took his time which he wont ever get back, They have emotionally damaged the both of us as well as our families and we've lost money among other issues. Absolutly pathetic. Maybe they should arrest Brian for purgery Aaron and I are more then willing to take lie detector tests but I guarentee you Brian and his family would not agree they refused to allow us to do that and wouldnt even listen to our side everytime I tried to speak I was cut off with a "tell me the truth" what a joke. How do you all sleep at night breaking up innocent families.
